Club Tournament - Give it a Go! 2 Tournaments, one for Adults, one for Juniors!

Now that you have paid your subs, why not use that other piece of paper that came with your membership bill? Know what we're talking about? YES! It's the GMLTC tennis competition entry form! Why not find a mate and give it a go? It would be great to get lots of new pairings competing - it's a great chance to play against other pairs you may not know. It's for absolutely everyone - not just the "good " players - we're all good sometimes!

Now I know that you'll say you've lost the form - but LUCKILY you can still enter, as you can find it on the website! (you'll need to login, and you can find it in the member's area) Closing date is Friday 12th May, so hurry along and nobble your perfect partner!

Aegon Teams Successful!

Aegon South Region Win!
Congrats to the Mens 1st Team who won their first Aegon South Region match 6 - 0 against Cirencester on Sunday. Well done to James Harley, Tom Smith, Ross Helmsley, Neil Johnson and Tom Miller.

The Ladies Aegon regional team won their first match of the season on Sunday away at Caversham. It was a very close match in beautiful sunshine. After the singles matches it was 2-2 meaning that the doubles were very important! We won one and lost one doubles so at the end of the match the score was 3-3. There had to be a winner so a tie-break shoot out was played involving two singles players and then a doubles pair if necessary after the two singles tie breaks. Jojo played a rematch of her singles and won decisively 10-1, Sophie took on former Missenden player and singles champion and won a close battle 14-12. This meant the doubles tie break did not need to be played and Missenden had won the match. Well done to these two and to Lottie and Nicki the other team members.

Ladies Night Supper

Membership Fees

Thanks to the 310 members who have paid their membership fees for this season by the due date of April 1st. This is a reminder to the remaining circa 220+ members to please pay your fees now! If you have misplaced your Renewal Pack and invoice for this season or have any questions about what or how to pay please contact Mary Bartlett at membership@gmltc.com.
There is a grace period until 30 April after which membership will lapse, and the adult joining fee of £25 will apply.

Junior Nights + Easter Camps

It was a great Junior Night last Friday, thanks to Tom for taking the session and for all the juniors who took part, there were lots of you. To Raja for his BBQ skills, not a burnt sausage in sight and for Mary’s amazing bar skills. No Junior Night this Friday (Good Friday) but we hope to see you next week.

Why not bring the kids down for a hit and come to test out Malt The Brewery samples which will be available at the club next Friday, 21st April, from 6pm. The Junior Night BBQ will be in full swing so come down and try our local brewery along with a hot dog or burger.

Easter Camps

We will be running camp during May Half Term and throughout the summer, these are available to book now. Look out for the dates and flyers.

CT News - Class Information

• New Class! - We have added a new Tot's class to our weekly time table at 2pm on a Tuesday.
• Classes start up again next week on Monday 17th April. You can renew your place on our Junior courses now online.
• The Adult Tuesday club session has moved to Mondayfrom 9am to 10am. All club members are welcome and we are currently in conversations with Matilda's in Great Missenden about arranging brunch after the Mondaysession.

Malt The Brewery - Membership Benefit

Our local community deal maker, Jill Stiel, has arranged for GMLTC members to get a 10% discount at the Malt The Brewery shop on Wycombe Road, Prestwood. Members will need to present their membership card at the brewery shop to take advantage of this deal. To celebrate this new member benefit we have arranged for some Malt The Brewery samples to be available at the club on Friday 21st April from 6pm. The Junior Night BBQ will be in full swing so come down and try our local brewery along with a hot dog or burger.

We try to put as much member information as possible in the "open" areas of the website so log in is not required. Have a cruise around if you have not already done so to see what is there - full match schedule for the season, new member application and prices for your friends and neighbours, links to GMLTC branded tennis wear etc. The Members' Area has information that is not in the public domain such as member contact details (Where can I find info on...?), club closed competition entry forms, General Meeting documents and policies. GMLTC Branded Clothing!

GMLTC Tennis Clothing Now Available for Juniors and Adults!
We have made arrangements for a wide range of tennis T-Shirts, Hoodies, Joggers, shorts etc with the GMLTC logo on the front and left sleeve to be available for purchase by members. We hope that junior (well, their parents) and adult team members will purchase a GMLTC T-Shirt for matches and members will enjoy the various GMLTC logo-ed hoodies, t's and joggers. Junior T-Shirts are £12 and adult ones £16,

The website will be live from Monday afternoon, 3rd April. You can select from and pay for a range of clothes and colours for ladies, men and juniors on-line. GMLTC together with MBKGP

World Premier Video to be released at GMLTC on Friday, April 21st
In the past two years, GMLTC tennis club and friends have made a major contribution to the Indian orphanage (MBKGP) in which Marie White and John Ramsbottom have been in involved for nearly 20 years. Last year the Tennis Lovers Bond Holders sponsored 3 children on behalf of the club, and Ajit and Gita’s "Save the Children” tournament raised money for another three children. In addition, club members and friends sponsor a further nine children. Gita, Ajit, Marie and John visited the orphanage earlier this year, and feature in a video about GMLTC’s involvement. Also, Will Smith, Rachel Miller, and her friend, James, have all spent time at the orphanage during their travels to India and beyond
Many of you will be aware of the interest in the orphanage through the biennial request for watches and toiletries. The watches are re-batteried/ repaired in the local market, and given to the older children who are due to leave school and go on to further education, or start work.
Marie, John, Gita and Ajit would like to say thank you for all your interest and support, and hope that you can join us at the tennis club on Friday, April 21st starting at 7.30 for an appreciative drink and some Indian snacks. We also hope to answer questions that many of you have asked regarding the orphanage in telling you a little more about the organisation, and to show the world premier of the 20 minute video featuring GMLTC , and our involvement , before it goes on general release on youtube! The video is the second about MBKGP by Howard Mondal, who is associated with the Global Ministries, their largest sponsor .

Wimbledon Draw
	This year's Wimbledon draw for Wimbledon tickets will take place on the evening of Thursday May 11th at the clubhouse, so save the date! You need to be a paid up member to enter the draw - there are also some tickets available for junior members too. Look out for more details!
