The ladies box league is for ladies doubles, and interest is growing so do let Ros Morris know if you would like to join. Join as a pair or if you don't have a partner, Ros will fix you up with one! It's open to everyone -players of all standards are encouraged to join in. (Pairs are needed for the top, the middle and the bottom boxes!!) Once there are enough players to create a few boxes, it will get going.

Friday Night (Junior Night) Court Usage
We have a long tradition of Friday evenings being the designated Junior Club Night.  Chris Benson, our Junior Coordinator, has arranged for Challenge Tennis to organise Junior play from 5pm to 6pm. There will be a BBQ serving from 6 pm and the bar will be open.  Parents and adult members are encouraged to come down and join in the social side!

There has been a growing number of adults interested in playing on a Friday late afternoon and early evening then joining in the social side. We have plenty of courts during dry weather so to accommodate everyone's needs the following allocation will start this week:
  • Juniors will have priority over courts 1 to 13 (the 3 clay by the clubhouse, the acrylics, grass and the middle 3 tarmacs) from 4pm during dry weather.
  • If the grass and acrylic courts are wet Juniors will also have priority over Court 14 and 15
  • Court 14 and 15 will be available for adult turn up and play during dry weather
  • There will be organised adults mixed doubles sessions on Courts 16, 17 and 18 (the top three tarmacs) between 4.30pm and 7.30pm. If you are interested in this let Jason know.
The Committee will keep an eye on Friday night court usage and assess how this allocation works in serving the primary interests of Junior Night while also building the social side for all members and allowing some adult play. In keeping with the long tradition of the Club to have Friday evenings as the designated Juniors Club Night we will have the Challenge Tennis organised play from 5-6 pm and the BBQ starting at 6 pm. We wish to remind everyone that Juniors have priority over all courts except 14-18 when conditions are dry and on all but 16-18 if wet (16-18 being used for the Club's organised adults mixed doubles sessions).

Marathon Success
Christine Taylor completed the London Marathon last month (sorry, Christine, this should have been reported way before now.)  can you spot her??
"Just want to let you know that I completed the London Marathon today in 4 hours 12 minutes. It's a PB, 16 minutes faster than when I last raced there 3 years ago. It was quite tough out there but the support from the crowd really pulled myself and other runners through the last few challenging miles and I had the most amazing time.
Thank you to you all for your support and generous donation. We raised, with gift aids, nearly £900 for Child Bereavement UK. Thank you very much again."

Well Done Christine!

Come and support the Club's Summer Sizzler with a Las Vegas theme, an event not to be missed. Keep the date (9th July) at a time TBA.
Why not get a group of friends together to enjoy a different sort of evening!
Also, if you can help out in any way with the ortganisation of the event, please contact Di or Sarah

Junior Nights
Junior Night at Great Missenden is every Friday in the Summer Term and is a chance for our junior members to join us at the club for some free coaching or to just play with other juniors and have fun.
There is organised play with one of the CT coaches from 5-6pm, organise yourselves after 6! All juniors welcome – come on down and whack some balls!
The BBQ will be up and running from 6pm, and the bar will be open. Parents are welcome to stay for a drink and chat whilst their children are playing tennis.
