Christmas Jumpers!
It's Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 15th December, so Kate thought it would be rather jolly to have a mulled wine and mince pie morning at the tennis club and encourage everyone to wear Christmas jumpers or something festive whilst playing and/or refreshing. 9.30 - 12.30. All proceeds to Save the Children.
Please come!
Minis and Parents - balls and courts
We'd like to remind parents of junior minis (U8, U10) that red, orange and green balls are available to borrow in the top clubhouse. Parents of 10 and unders can have a hit with their minis using these balls where at least one parent is a social member - then either parent can have a hit (or a grandparent / nanny)
There are mini-court lines and mini-nets on Court 16 to make a new "mini zone". They can also use other green tarmac courts if not being used for coaching or by other members.
The top clubhouse now has three buckets with a supply of mini-red (8 and under), mini-orange (9 to 10) and mini-green (10+) balls for juniors to borrow. Please help yourselves to the age appropriate balls - they make the game much more enjoyable for the young ones as they are easier to get back (and for parents...!). Please put them back in the buckets when finished for others to use. There are also some useful guides to each of the mini stages on the wall in the top clubhouse
LTA Survey on GMLTC
You will have received an email like the picture opposite asking you to participate in a national survey from the LTA about your playing habits and experience at GMLTC. The club will receive aggregate data from our members who complete the survey about what you think. It would be helpful to the Committee to get your views on your experience at the club so we can identify ways to improve. The online survey is quiet simple to do, takes about 10 - 15 mins and does not require you to log in! Please take the opportunity to give us your feedback as part of this national survey.
Congratulations!
Alex and Nicki Hartley saw the safe arrival of Sophia Anne Hartley on 18th October. Mum and baby (and dad and big brother Joshua) are all doing well and Nicki is keen to be back on court as soon as possible. Ladies 1 are looking forward to having her back!
Junior Nights
Junior evenings are finished for this year but we still have our exciting Christmas special and will re start when the weather warms up again in mid February after half term break. Of course if kids are interested please post messages via WhatsApp and have some unofficial hit between now and when it restarts.
Lost Property
