Ladies Night with Coaching and Pot Luck Supper
Ladies Night on Monday 24/4/17, ie TONIGHT, kicks off at 6pm with mix-in tennis. Coach Ross will come to give hints and tips from 7-8pm. Get to know him - he can help you improve your tennis!
Following that, we will have a bring and share supper, so please come and join us for a light-hearted social gathering and some tasty food. It will be a great evening to kick off the new summer season.
CT Holiday Camps
Easter camps were really busy and we were really lucky with the weather. We will be running May Half Term Camps and the usual Summer Camps. Bookings are being taken now.
Please contact Challenge Tennis
Wimbledon Ballot
This year's Wimbledon draw for Wimbledon tickets will take place on the evening of Thursday May 11th at the clubhouse, so save the date! You need to be a paid up member to enter the draw - there are also some tickets available for junior members too.
Lost Property
The lost property box is overflowing, mainly junior size tops. Please collect by end of next weekend after which everything will go to a local charity shop!
Junior Night BBQ
Friday saw the season's first Junior BBQ and the place was buzzing! Thanks Raja for organising, and setting the season off so successfully.
Burgers and hot dogs are available every Friday after 6pm, and the bar is open!
GMLTC and the Family Village Farm
On Friday evening John and Marie, Gita and Ajit invited us to a presentation about the Family Village Farm, and orphanage in India, which the club supports. It was very well attended - about 70 in total.
John gave a presentation to tell the story about the founding of the organization and recent developments at both FVF and the school which the children attend.
A video followed, featuring John and Marie, Ajit and Gita, who visited the orphanage (Family Village Farm) earlier this year, showing up close the children (and grannies) and their daily lives. John has created two large notice boards showing the stories of the children that the club and other individuals now support, letters from sponsored children, along with some newsletters from the organisation were
These will remain in the clubhouse for a week or so, so please do take a few moments to go and read these inspiring stories.
Matt The Marathon Man
CT coach Matt ran the London Marathon yesterday for the NSPCC. A fantastic and very worthy cause. If you are able to support him by giving to his Just Giving Page you can find the link below.
