GMLTC Home and Away Children’s Charity Tournament.
Dear Members
Please come and join us for our annual children’s charity tournament on Saturday 9th September, 10am to 1pm.

This year we have select two brilliant children’s charities to support.
For the ‘away’ charity, we will continue to support and sponsor our 3 lovely children at Family Village Farm, Kasam, Vellore, India. http://www.mbkgpkasam.org/

And what children’s charity could be closer to home than the Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity. http://www.roalddahl.com/charity/about-the-charity

As always, it will be a fun mixed tennis tournament, open to everyone of any ability. We can arrange partners for you and guests are welcome.

It is £10 to enter, which all goes to the charities. We will also have food and drink available.
Please email ajit.kadirgamar@thepracticegroup.co.uk if you and your friends would like to take part. The more merrier (and the more for the two charities!)

Club Competition Final Rounds!
	Please remember to complete the last round(s) of the GMLTC adult and junior club competitions before finals day on Saturday 16th September. There will be a BBQ, pims and bar to follow the finals and to celebrate and mark the end-ish of the summer season. More details in next newsletter!

Ladies Winter Club Night Mondays 6-8pm
	Two floodlit Clay courts are reserved for us from Monday 4th September. Mary Bartlett will launch the doodle each week. Here you can sign up to participate each week as and when you are available. Initially the invitation to join the doodle will go out to all lady playing members to catch as many new participants as possible. Do sign up and keep playing all winter!

Lottie's Marathon Run

Hi GMLTC,

As some of you may know, I have (worryingly) taken up the challenge of running the New York marathon on 5th November with Team UNICEF. Before I started training for this marathon I had never run further than 5km, so needless to say this is going to be the biggest physical challenge I have ever done!

I am 10 weeks out from the big day, and only 8 weeks away from having to hit my $3,500 fundraising target for Unicef (otherwise this is going to be one expensive Marathon for me!!).

We are extremely fortunate to have been born into a world where we don't have to think about how we are going to get water for the day or where the next meal is coming from, but a lot of children are not so lucky. Whilst our kids wake up in a comfy bed, wash in clean water, put on their clothes and go to school with their friends, there are many kids whose aim is to literally just try and survive and make it to the end of the day.

For this reason I would love your support to help me help UNICEF make a difference to these kids' lives.

Reminders - County Closed and Floodlight Sign-up
Reminder - we have the Bucks County Closed next week between Monday 28th August and Saturday 2nd September. Court availability will have some limitations during the day.
