We are looking forward to seeing lots of our members, both new (welcome to the non-tennis side of the club!) and long standing (here I hesitate to use the word "old"), along with your friends

Men's Title Decider
Come and support the Men's 1 who have a massive match v Halton Men's 1 at the club on Saturday. This is a title decider, so it would be fantastic if we could have some extra support. There will be some awesome tennis on view (think Wimbledon?) - and hopefully us beating them... ;)))
Play starts at 1pm, so make sure you have a front row seat!
Good Luck GMLTC!!
Tennis Ladders
We are starting up the singles ladder again, in which men and women (seniors and juniors) can participate. As in the previous mixed ladder, participants are free to choose who they play against - MvM, LvL or LvM. It is open to all and can cater for all abilities of players.

We will also be starting a men's doubles ladder. If you wish to play doubles please confirm your partner or you can request a partner.
If you are interested in joining either of these ladders, please let Jason know asap at ligjasonk@gmail.com and he will liaise with interested parties about tennisrungs accounts and will get the on-line ladder set up.

We want to get this ladder set up this month so please don't
delay if you want to play!
GMLTC Closed Tournament
First round completed - congratulations to the winners who now proceed to round 2 which should be played by30th July.
Good Luck all!
Neil's Note
I won't mention in this Neil's Note that word describing the season between Spring and Autumn as it rains whenever I do... When it does stop raining we will get the next two hard courts repaired and painted in US Open colours.

I put up some 10mph signs on the road to the top clubhouse a couple of weeks back. Some members expressed concern about the relatively high speed of cars using that road. There are often children in the top car park and there is a bit of a blind corner as you near it so please slow down. We don't want any car crashes or injuries!

An application for Planning Permission was submitted this week to Chiltern District Council for floodlights on Court 15. Many thanks to Kate Brown for doing an excellent Planning Statement detailing our case for more floodlighting at the club and to the O'Kellys and Nick Hardy for their letters of support. We are making the case for three additional floodlit courts but at this stage only applying for Court 15. This is based on advice received from the planning team at the Council who think this is the one we may get approval for. We expect to submit a further application for lights on Courts 2 and 3 (or possibly 17 - 18) in the near future. Fingers crossed!

Do come and support the Men's 1st Team in their key Bucks Shield match at home this Saturday at 1pm v Halton. It should be the league decider so lots of home support would be great. I will open the bar too if anyone would like a drink while watching! Good luck also to the Ladies 1st Team who play their Bucks Shield match against Halton away on Sunday 10 July at 2pm. All support there also very welcome!

Enjoy your 'seasonbetweenspringandautumn' tennis and I hope it rains (opposite wish tactic!)
